Our Foundational Legacy
The Founder
Consol Basi B’inkoko Efomi is more than the founder of EFOMI; he is the living embodiment of the values the brand represents. His name, rooted in the Tshuapa region of the Democratic Republic of Congo, serves as a blueprint for his mission and his work.
Derived from the French “consolateur”, Consol translates to "The Comforter." His middle name, Basi B’inkoko, comes from the Mongo language, meaning "water from the well" - a sacred symbol of fresh, life-giving water that quenches thirst and heals the grieving heart.
The name EFOMI honors a rare Congolese tree known for its tenacity and medicinal power. In Tshuapa tradition, the Efomi tree is a symbol of unwavering stability; its deep root system makes it impossible to uproot, while its bark provides a potent remedy for complex ailments. It is a "double-edged sword" - a force for restoration for those in need and a symbol of protection against the misuse of power.
For Consol, EFOMI is not just a brand with a unique set of propositions; it is a personal calling. By weaving his heritage into every facet of his work, he offers a brand built on deep roots, healing energy, and a strength that cannot be shaken.
